Our Duroc boar Hazmat was one that had mass and bone as a baby yet could still throw his head up like a show barrow. He is sired by Bomb Squad at SGI, who should need no introduction for those of you that follow the Duroc breed. For the past 2 years, Bomb Squad has dominated the Duroc breed. A few of his winning offspring include the Reserve Grand Overall Gilt at the 2019 San Antonio Gilt Show, Reserve Duroc Gilt at the 2019 Texas Elite Showcase Gilt Show, Reserve Duroc barrow at San Antonio Livestock Show in 2019, Reserve Duroc gilt at OYE in 2019 and Champion Duroc barrow at the Western National in 2020.
Hazmat’s dam is not a slouch either. She is sired by Go Time – a class winning boar that we purchased from Chuck and Ben Olsen in Belton at the SWTC a couple of years ago. Her dam is one of our most prolific Duroc sows that has raised multiple winning barrows and gilts at almost every major show in the state.
